Navigating These Wild Times

Navigating These Wild Times

Just when it seems like things in our world can’t get any more intense, something else happens!

How do we navigate through these wild and crazy times with balance, so we can take good care of ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities?

Here are four things helping me:

  1. Maintain good boundaries. This is so important for heart centered women with high empathy, who tend to feel everything deeply.  I’m hearing from some of you that you’re unfollowing relatives on social media and limiting contact with people who are getting swept up with fear and negativity. We can always increase our contact again later when it feels right.

  2. Take aligned action. What are your most important values, and what actions can you take that support those values? For me right now this includes supporting political campaigns through donations and writing postcards to voters. How about for you? Maybe one of your most important values is kindness, and you make it a point to express kindness in your daily life, such as a friendly word to a neighbor or the grocery store clerk – that changes the world.

  3. Work with our thoughts. Thought downloads (writing down all our thoughts about a subject) are a great way to get all the negative, fearful thoughts out of our heads and onto paper where we can look at them. Then we can choose whether we want to continue focusing on those thoughts or shift to more positive ones.

  4. Uplift our spirits. One of the best things we can do to navigate these stressful times is spend time every day doing things that lift our spirits. For me this includes connecting with loved ones, spending time in nature, being creative, and connecting with my spirituality. How about for you? What lifts your spirits and helps shift you out of stress and into more balance?

Please take good care of your precious self. Our world needs your kindness, compassion, and empathy now more than ever.

Hugs,

Liz
