Boost Your Calm and Creativity

Boost Your Calm and Creativity

In these challenging times, is it worthwhile taking time to be creative?

Below I share three of the many reasons why the answer is YES!

  1. Creativity increases our flexibility. With all that is going on in the world and in our personal lives, we need to be as flexible and adaptable as we can. Spending time on creative activities helps strengthen our flexibility and creative problem-solving abilities.

  2. Creativity is good for our bodies. Going through prolonged stressful times can be hard on our bodies, including our immune systems. Doing activities we enjoy, such as being creative, releases healing hormones that make us stronger.

  3. Create the world we want to live in. All our actions are votes for the world we want to live in. I want to live in a world where there is abundant creativity, where everyone is expressing their natural creative gifts - that would make the world such a fun place! And I believe we need all the human creativity, ingenuity, and innovation we can come up with to solve the challenges we’re facing as a species.

Even knowing these things, sometimes I still have trouble prioritizing creativity and making time for it in my schedule, because I have thoughts such as, “I should be spending my time doing things that are more productive.”

But I know when I do take time for creativity and other things that nurture my spirit, I am happier, healthier, and ultimately more productive.
