Every Day is a Gift

Every Day is a Gift

Dear friends –

Have you seen the movie ‘The Dig’ on Netflix?

One of the characters is slowly dying of heart failure.

That was me fifteen years ago, before I had open heart surgery to repair a defect in my heart.

After the surgery and recovery, I was able to live a normal life again, which felt like a miracle.

Everything seemed like a gift, even the simplest aspects of everyday life.

That perspective stayed with me for a while, until gradually I slipped back into taking life for granted again.

Watching the movie reminded me that, without the miracle of the surgery, I would be long gone by now.

It reminded me that every day of life for me is a bonus day.

The more I stay in that perspective, the more I feel grateful for everything in life.

None of us knows much time we have, our lives could end at any moment.

So really, for all of us, every day is a bonus day.

What helps you stay in gratitude for each day?

Please take good care of your precious self. Our world needs your gifts of kindness, compassion, and empathy now more than ever.

Hugs,

Liz
