Connect with Nature
Dear Friends,
Happy belated Earth Day!
This is a great time to remember how healing it can be to connect to nature.
Humans evolved over millennia in close connection with the natural world.
In our increasingly artificial modern world, one of the most powerful things we can do for our bodies, minds, and spirits is simply to connect with nature.
Being immersed in nature, such as going for a walk in the forest or on the seashore, is wonderful.
But even if we can’t do that, connecting with the natural world in small ways throughout the day can go a long way to balancing and resetting our nervous systems.
How many ways can you find to take a moment of stillness during your day and connect, such as:
Feel the sun (or rain) on your face
Listen to a bird singing
Notice the stars
Look out your window at the sky
Pay attention to the trees, flowers, and other plants around you
Feel your bare feet on the grass
Say hi to a houseplant
Close your eyes and remember a time when you felt deeply connected with nature
The more intention you can bring to these small moments of connection, the stronger the relationship you’ll build with the earth.
We humans are part of nature, and nature wants to connect with us as much as we want to connect with it!
Sending much love,
Liz
